Apostille Stamp Attestation: As per the Hague Convention in 1961, the need of legalization of foreign documents was abolished. MEA attestation is accepted in all hague member countries. India is one of the 105 member countries that accepts apostille attestation.
Normal Attestation: It is the attestation by the Ministry of External Affairs for non-hague countries. 


Procedures of MEA Attestation

After the documents are verified and attested by the respective state HRD of each states or the notary, it is forwarded to the Ministry of External Affairs. Here, the ministry verifies your documents and issues the required attestation. After 2012, the MEA attestation is done through certificate attestation agencies.
